Gujarat to set up 100 MW solar PV project atop Narmada canal

The state-owned Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam will set up the 100 MW solar project atop branch canals of river Narmada at an estimated cost of Rs 100 crore. Four locations in central Gujarat have already been identified for the project.

The Minister of State (MoS) for Jal Shakti, Rattan Lal Kataria, stated in Parliament yesterday that the National Perspective Plan (NPP) was prepared by the then Ministry of Irrigation (now Ministry of Jal Shakti) in August 1980 for water resources development through inter basin transfer of water, for transferring water from water surplus basins to water-deficit basins.
